Beauty school raises money for missing kids
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- With children like Kayla Berg and Stephanie Low still missing, a Wausau beauty school ramps up efforts to raise money.
State College of Beauty Culture school cuts hair to donate money to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The organization says about $800,000 kids go missing each year.
Stephanie Low's mom spoke at this year's event to share her appreciation for the school's efforts.
"I'm here today because this is the one thing me and my daughter did together. At least once a year we came to the beauty school. We got our hair done. I've done it with her since she was at least five," Stephanie Low's mom Claudia Blake said.
Organizers hope to raise about $4,000 this year, double what they've raised in the past.
