Beauty students in spotlight
The Salon Professional Academy in North Fort Myers teamed up with North Fort Myers High School to work with them on the play "Hairspray" that ran last week. "It seemed like a win-win for both schools," said Cherie Bratcher, director of education at the cosmetology school. About 20 actors will exchange tickets for hairstyling. The students worked with wigs to create the 1960s "beehive" look. "The actors get pampered and our students can have a great time while gaining experience and adding more "before and after" photos for their portfolio," she said. "The word has gotten out and we have been contacted by another school to work with them on upcoming plays."
