Best Bet: Get a haircut, fight cancer

Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology will kickoff its yearly haircuts-for-a-good-cause event starting this weekend.
As part of the Seventh Annual "Cuts for Cancer" the school will offer a variety of $5 services including haircuts, mini manicures and pedicures, beard and mustache trims from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at either of its Columbia campuses.
All services will be provided by cosmetology students under the supervision of licensed instructors, and proceeds from the event will be donated to Children’s Chance, a Columbia-based organization that helps children with cancer.
Tickets may be purchased online or in advance of the event at 449 St. Andrews Road or 7474 Garners Ferry Road. Otherwise, services on the days of the event will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance tickets may also be redeemed the week following the event no later than May 20.
