Nevada Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

In order to obtain a license in Cosmetology, Manicuring or Esthetics in the state of Nevada, individuals must complete the requirements listed below. Other requirements may apply.

Cosmetologist: 1800 hours
Hair Designer: 1200 hours
Esthetician: 600 hours
Manicurist: 500 hours
Electrologist: 500 hours (Under direct supervision of approved Electrologist)

Reciprocity: $200 (no test)
Certification Request: $10
Application Request: $15

In order to transfer a license to Nevada, the applicant must have a current license in another state. The license must be in good standing, and the applicant must prove they have passed a National written exam. If the applicant has not taken a National written exam, he or she must take the exam prior to obtaining a license in Nevada.
