New Hampshire Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

In order to obtain a license in Barbering, Cosmetology, Esthetics, or Manicuring in the state of New Hampshire, individuals must complete the requirements listed below. Other requirements may apply.

Barber: 800 hours (1600 hours apprentice)
Cosmetology: 1500 hours (3000 hours apprentice)
Esthetics: 600 hours
Manicurist: 300 hours

Fees are established by the board.

Continuing Education Requirements:

Only for instructors at this time.

Reciprocity:

Applicants must prove1500 hours of Barbering or Cosmetology schooling or have a notarized letter stating 3000 hours of work experience have been completed. Estheticians must have 600 hours of schooling or a notarized letter stating 1200 hours of work experience have been completed. Manicurists need 300 hours of schooling or a notarized letter stating 600 hours of work experience have been completed.
